Introducing our new drummer Gary. He's been thumping the tubs for us for a few weeks now and has fitted in effortlessly. Currently with hard rock outfit Riff Raff, Gary can now proudly claim "my other band is Skroo Loose." Check out his biog on the "meet the band page."

Despite making a brave go at it, Lee's health has meant that he has had to call it a day. He will, however remain with us for the next couple of weeks until we have a replacement. We would like to thank Lee for all the hard work he has put into getting the band off the ground over the last two years. We hope you will join us for Lee's final gigs: tonight at the Wheatsheaf, Waddington and next week at The Barley Mow, Huntingdon and The Hit Or Miss, Stamford, so we can give him a great send off.

Happy New Year one and all!!! Unfortunately we have to start the new decade with some bad news. Due to ill health Lee has had to take things easy for a while. As a result we shall not be gigging this month. We shall, however, be back in February at Ye Olde Crowne in Lincoln with Phil Malone from OAK covering for Lee. Many thanks to Phil for helping us out again. Check out Oak's website: www.rockwithoak.com
In the meantime we wish Lee all the best, a speedy recovery and look forward to him being back behind the drums for Skroo Loose soon.

Five, yes five!!!! (count them and weep) new songs added to our now groaning repertoire.

Fantastic news!!! Richard and Sandy, formerly of The Red Lion at Revesby, have now taken over at The Coach And Horses in Billinghay. Skroo Loose are delighted to be one of the first bands to play there under the new ownership and we wish Richard and Sandy the very best for their future in Billinghay.

A new booking has just been added to "show dates": The Nightingale Inn, Lincoln. Short notice for this one as it's a week Friday...the 13th!!!! Told you we weren't superstitious. So to all our fans in Lincoln, another chance to catch us as we won't be in Lincoln for a few months.
Once again it was another terrific night at "The White Lion" in Grantham. Many thanks to all our fans, old and new, for turning out to see us. Glad you enjoyed the new material. And don't forget, we'll be back in Grantham next month at "The Nobody Inn"...see you there. (The Drummer is so looking forward to it).

A new date and venue has just been added for March: The Axe and Cleaver, Boston on Friday 6th March. So a good chance for our fans in the Boston area to catch us on this weekend as we are at the Black Bull, Kirton on the Saturday!

Many thanks to those kind ladies who helped to repair my chin after I managed to split it open last night. It was bound to happen eventually!
Please note that the gig at the Wheatsheaf for Friday March 13th has now been brought forward to Friday February 20th. Nothing to do with superstition (we're not like that).
URGENT UPDATE 13/1/09
It has just been brought to our attention that the Government intends to pass a bill requiring all establishments that have an entertainments license to install noise controllers. For those who don't know what these devices do, they are connected to the power sockets used by bands, entertainers, discos etc and will cut the power supply should the volume exceed the limit set on the device. As you can imagine, this means that sound will suddenly be cut in the middle of a song, not to mention possible damage to equipment. Anyone who has had experience of these meters will tell you that sometimes they are set so low that simply hitting the snare drum will activate the breaker.
Needless to say, this will destroy live music.
Please help to keep music live by signing the online petition:
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/NoNoiseControl/
Thankyou.
UPDATE 13/1/09
Ok, so there haven't been any updates for a while but what with Xmas blah, blah blah... Anyway, we were saving ourselves for this particular item. After some fourteen years at The Red Lion in Revesby, Richard and Sandy have sadly decided to leave for pastures new. So last Sunday saw a remarkable event at The Lion... members from at least six different bands turned up and played to a massive crowd and it was an honour for Skroo Loose to pay our respects to a couple who have fervently supported live music by bringing the curtain down one last time. When we finished our set, the evening was given over to wild abandon and we were joined by members of Gin House, Storm, Replay, Just 4 Kicks...forgive me if I've missed anyone out. We had the time of our lives and what a fantastic way, with much sadness, to bring to an end fourteen years of live music at The Red Lion. A big pat on the back for Phil of Gin House who provided much of the equipment and for organising the evening. We would like to thank Richard and Sandy for all the support that they have given us over the years and wish them all the very best in their new venture.
